Derbyshire Yeomanry
The Square blue/green is the "Arms of Service" and stands for Armoured Car Regiment. The number 42 (white) is the "Unit Serial Number" and represents the 1st Derbyshire Yeomanry Regiment. The Armoured fist is the insignia of the 6th Armoured Division.
STAGHOUND 1st DY, Car T17E1 in Bovington Tank Museum.
In 1938 it was used on anti invasion patrols along the North East coast by the 1st Derbyshire Yeomanry. After the war it was transferred to the Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset, where it can be seen by visitors to the museum. It was used to transport Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II during a royal visit to the museum in May 1997.

The Square Blue/Green is the "Arms of Service" and stands for the RECCE Corps. The number 41 (white) is the "Unit Serial Number" and represents the 2nd Derbyshire Yeomanry Regiment. The red circle & "HD" on a blue ground is the insignia of the 51st Highland Division.
The 2DY was put into the 51st Highland Division as its reconnaissance unit having served in its own right as a specialist Royal Armoured Corps Regiment (BRICK) in North Africa. There was a Reconnaissance Corps which provided recce units to infantry divisions; so the Regiment was slightly odd, as a Royal Armoured Corps unit, becoming the recce unit to an infantry division.
